As a business owner, you always have to be aware of the cons of any potential decision that you’re about to make. These are the negative aspects to stand-alone shopping cart functionality:
Payment Gateways Supported:PayPal, 2Checkout, Google Wallet, Authorize.net, BitCoin, Braintree, Offline (payment via cheque, cash or bank transfer) and a premium module to add more if needed.
Hello, is it possible to use this payment method for a marketplace made in woordpress setting a commission for the wordpress administrator? That is, I create a markeplace-style web, so that 2 registered users agree and a transaction is made between them. A% of that transaction would remain in an account of the web administrator. @Jhowell, Please enable debug, reset the log and make a test purchase so I can check it.
@Nelson, The log file will tell you if the plugin received IPN from PayPal. Without an IPN the plugin cannot update the order. Do you have IPN enabled in your PayPal account?
Sellfy’s shopping cart is a simple, customizable widget: you have just a simple code snippet that you copy and paste into your WordPress page or post. That’s it. And you have the option of deciding whether you want it next to every product as a static cart or as a floating one that follows you around the site. In combination with the cart, you can embed a “buy now” button wherever you want on your WordPress website for faster checkout. Lastly, there’s the option to embed a product card or a whole store view without having the user leave your site.
The plugin also has an option to use the smart PayPal payment buttons. You can enable the PayPal smart button option in the settings menu of the plugin. The following video shows a checkout demo using PayPal smart button.
I might suggest to also include the product image inside of the shopping cart, for visual confirmation as well.
Payment Gateways Supported: PayPal and offline payments. Merchant gateways still included but no longer supported: Authorize.net, Payson, eProcessingNetwork, Webtopay, iDEAL
It’s best to solve issues on your own if you can. A trip to the knowledge base can save you a lot of money. Only use support as a last resort.
@Dirk, That portion of the video is showing how you enable the IPN feature in your PayPal account. You just have to use the home page URL of your own site. The following page talks more about enable the IPN feature. Hopefully that will be more clear to you: Having trouble with the video “Selling digital media files” or to be precise the Paypal configuration. At 1:02 the speaker says “and here you can paste the grumbleflutebeep of your website”. I listened again and again but I cannot understand the word (sorry, not a native speaker). It appears the speaker paste a URL into the field but which? The grumbleflutebeep of my website? But if I fill in grumbleflutebeep I get an error. What shall I do now?
You can sell digital products via this plugin easily too. The following video shows how you can sell your digital media files using the simple cart plugin:
